New Surveillance Pictures of Alexis Murphy, FBI Searches Home for Cellphone

Nelson Co., VA – FBI investigators have released new images of Alexis Murphy, the Nelson County teen who has been missing since Saturday night.

Investigators say the 17-year-old was last seen August 3. The images released Thursday afternoon show Murphy at a Liberty gas station in Lovingston. The first surveillance picture shows Alexis walking outside the gas station and the other shows her coming through the front door.

She was wearing a pink blouse, floral spandex pants and brown boots. She was carrying a dark and light colored grey purse.

Earlier in the week, ABC 13 spoke exclusively to a clerk at that gas station who said she was the one who helped Alexis that night.

"Just said ‘Hi' and she asked for her gas and I gave her her change back and she said'Bye' and I said ‘Have a nice day.' She seemed fine smiling happy like always nothing out of the ordinary," said Tiffany Stevens.

Stevens also says that Alexis is a regular customer and to her knowledge, Alexis appeared to be alone that night.

ABC 13 is also learning new information about FBI agents looking for Alexis' cellphone at a house off of Cannery Loop, which is only a few miles north of that Liberty Gas Station in Lovingston.

Willis Little is the property owner and says that house was searched earlier on in week. He says FBI agents told him they had reason to believe the cell phone of Alexis Murphy may have been in that area since that piece of property is right off Route 29. Little says that it's his understanding that nothing was found on his property.

Officials say Murphy was traveling in a white 2003 Nissan Maxima with license plates WYN-3706, which was found in Charlottesville Tuesday night.

The Nelson County Sheriff's Office, Virginia State Police and the FBI are all investigating the case, and ask that you contact them at 434-263-7050 if you have any information.
