UPDATE: 6:05 p.m.

Nelson Co., VA - The man arrested and charged with the abduction of 17 year old Alexis Murphy was assigned a court appointed attorney Tuesday.

Randy Taylor appeared in person due to a video feed error. The advisement hearing only lasted five minutes in Nelson County Juvenile and Domestic Court.

Investigators tell ABC 13 that they can't rule out that Taylor acted alone in the abduction of Murphy.

Taylor's preliminary hearing will be January 9 at 10 a.m. He remains in the Albemarle County Jail without bond.
