Martinsville, VA-- An old building in Uptown Martinsville is getting new life.
Steve Rucker has been renovating the old Martinsville, Henry County social services building for three years and now, he's turned it into an antique store and museum.
The managers said they wanted the building to help revitalize Uptown Martinsville. There are hundreds of items up for sale in the antique store. Guests can also visit the antique telephone museum and old casino-style museum.
"We want this to be an antique destination," said Marny Adams-Gehrken, store manager at Ruckers Antique Emporium. "That people that may not even otherwise be coming to Martinsville or Henry County, that they will purposely come here when they're look for treasures for their house."
Ruckers Antique Emporium will be having their grand opening Thursday afternoon from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
