Wilmington Snaps Hillcats' 4-Game Win Streak

Lynchburg - The Hillcats scored the final four runs of the game, but it wasn't enough as Wilmington ends Lynchburg's 4-game winning streak, beating the 'Cats 6-4.

The Hillcats' Greg Ross pitched seven innings, but the Blue Rocks roughed him up in the fourth for FOUR big runs, two here on Ethan Chapman's chopper over first.  Trailing 6-0 in the fourth, Elmer Reyes doubled down the third base line to drive in Lynchburg's first run.  Two batters later, Levi Hyams hammers one to right off the wall for the Hillcats' third double of the inning to score Reyes and make it 6-2.

In the fifth, Trent Moses makes a diving stop for the Hillcats and flips to Ross for the out.

Lynchburg scored two more in the fifth to slice the lead to 6-4, Reyes with another rbi single.

But the Rocks hang on 6-4, the win pushes them ahead of the 'Cats by a half-game in the wildcard chase.
