OHP Kicks Off Drunk Driving Crackdown

Posted: Updated:

Oklahoma State Troopers are cracking down on drunk drivers for the next two weeks.

The national campaign, called "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," kicks off Friday, August 16th and runs through Monday, Sept. 2nd.

"We will target suspected DUI drivers and aggressively enforce Oklahoma

drug and alcohol laws, but we won't stop there," said OHP Captain George Brown.

"Troopers are going to look beyond the traffic stop in an attempt to suppress any criminal act and/or highway crime. Nationally, there are many instances of human trafficking, kidnapping, violent crimes and even terrorist type activity all of which have one thing in common: the perpetrators use highways and the federal interstate system to travel.  We are dedicated to protecting Oklahomans and we'll use this crackdown as an opportunity to insure safety for everyone."
