Lynchburg - David Rohm lined a shot to left field in the bottom of the ninth to score the winning run as the Hillcats beat Wilmington 6-5.
Lynchburg never led until Rohm's walk-off winner. It was the second straight night the Hillcats had rallied from behind to beat the Blue Rocks. Trent Moses and Josh Elander both homered in the win. Rohm drove in two runs, the first Hillcats run and the last one in the ninth. The Hillcats bullpen combination of Brandon Cunniff and Nate Hyatt pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, both able to get out of some tough jams late to keep the game deadlocked at 5.
With the win, the Hillcats increase their lead to a game-and-a-half in the wild card chase. Lynchburg hits the road for nine games in seven days, the week-long trip begins Saturday evening in Myrtle Beach.
