Roanoke Woman Arrested for Malicious Wounding


Roanoke, VA- A Roanoke woman is behind bars after police say she shot a man early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the 3400 block of Hillcrest Avenue in Roanoke for reports of a woman screaming. When they got there they found 34-year-old Royal Jamal Ali Saunders outside the home, suffering from a gunshot wound. Saunders was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

After further investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for 31-year-old Brandon Adelle Wright for malicious wounding. Wright was taken into custody, and she is being held in the Roanoke City Jail.
