Danville, VA - Danville firefighters saved a cat's life Wednesday after rescuing it from a mobile home fire.
They used an animal rescue mask and say it's the reason the cat lived. They say they use these masks on animals about four times a year. The Department got the masks from the Danville Humane Society about 10 years ago.
"It's real rewarding especially when you see the owners reaction. It's like a lot of them's kids. People's animals are just like their kids," said Neil Bailey, firefighter.
The cat went to the Humane Society after the fire to be checked out. We're told the cat is doing okay now and the owners are expected to pick it up Thursday night.
