Lynchburg Police Looking for Shooting Suspect

Update 9:30 p.m.: Lynchburg Police have arrested the man they say is responsible for a shooting early Sunday morning. Police say Teron William Slaughter, 19, shot another man around 1:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Greenfield Drive at the James Crossing Apartments. Officers responded to the apartments for a shots fired call. When they got there they found a man with a gunshot wound. The man was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital to be treated; his wound was non-life-threatening. Police located Slaughter around 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the 800 block of Wise Street where he was arrested without incident.

Slaughter has been charged with malicious wounding and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.

Lynchburg, VA- Lynchburg Police want you to be on the lookout for a shooting suspect they say is armed and dangerous.

Police say 19-year-old Teron William Slaughter is responsible for a shooting early Sunday morning in the 800 block of Greenfield Drive at the James Crossing Apartments.

Officers responded around 1:30 a.m. for a shots fired call, where they found a person with a gunshot wound. The person was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

Police say Slaughter has braided hair, weighs about 230 lbs, and is 6'1".  Slaughter is wanted for malicious wounding and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
