Henry Co., VA - Patrick Henry Community College will soon be even bigger.
The College board approved Monday the purchase of the Arrington Manufacturing building to expand their motorsports program.
Their motorsports facility is currently next to the building, but they say they need more space to expand. They will acquire 13.5 acres of land for over $200,000. Then, the state will pay for the building.
Community College representatives say the program is especially important being so close to many local tracks.
"Motorsports is vitally important economically to Southside Virginia, so we think this is really important move for Patrick Henry Community College to expand the program," said Kris Landrum, Public Relations and Marketing Manager.
They hope to start moving into the building as early as this Fall.
