Lynchburg, VA - The largest first-year class at Randolph College in 28 years started moving in Wednesday.

On hand to help students get their stuff packed into the dorms, the college's new president Bradley Bateman.

There are 220 students in the class of 2017, a 22% increase from last year.

College officials say students are coming to Lynchburg from 24 states and countries, including China and Jamaica.

"As Randolph College emerges as its own institution people are starting to be able to see it for what it is and it is a great place so they are attracted to come," said Bradley Bateman, President of Randolph College.

The large class is proof of a continuing trend at Randolph College.

This marks its fourth year of significant enrollment growth.

The college expects a total enrollment of 685 students.
