Motorcycle Crash in Rockbridge Co. Sends Four to the Hospital
Rockbridge Co., VA - Virginia State Police are continuing their investigation into a motorcycle crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon around 2:40 p.m. on Route 11 northbound at the exit 180 interchange in Rockbridge County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Harley-Davidson Tri Glide motorcycle was traveling northbound on Route 11 when the operator was approaching a highway work zone. The driver had to slow down suddenly when he didn't observe a flagman stopping traffic at that location and was then rear ended by a 2012 Harley-Davidson Tri Glide motorcycle.
The operator of the motorcycle that was rear ended was Wayne A. Brown, age 65, of Roanoke, VA. he was transported to Carilion Stonewall Jackson hospital in Lexington. His passenger Curtina Brown, age 54, of Roanoke, VA was also transported to Carilion Stonewall Jackson hospital for her injuries. Both were wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The operator of the 2012 Harley-Davidson Charles Perdue, 61, of Goodview was transported to Carilion Stonewall Jackson hospital. His passenger Diana Perdue, 49, of Goodview, Virginia was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial hospital for her injuries. Both were wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. No charges have been filed at this time and the crash remains under investigation.
