Woodbridge - Potomac scored in the bottom of the 14th to edge the Hillcats 2-1 in Game One of the best-of-3 Northern Division Carolina League playoffs.
Lynchburg was one out away from a 1-0 victory when the Nationals tied the game with an rbi double in the bottom of the 9th to stay alive. Noone scored the next four innings until the P-Nats broke through in the 14th, Michael Taylor's rbi single the game-winning hit.
Lynchburg starter Greg Ross had a super outing, throwing six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out 10.
The Hillcats must win Thursday night to keep the series alive. A Lynchburg win Thursday would force a third-and-deciding game Friday night at Potomac to determine which team would advance to the Mills Cup Championship Series beginning Saturday.
