Hope for Tomorrow in Lynchburg Raises Pediatric Cancer Awareness

Posted:

Lynchburg, VA - A big crowd was up early Saturday morning to take part in the first ever Hope for Tomorrow 5K.

Friends and families cheered each other on at the event at Peaks View Park in Lynchburg. Hope for Tomorrow is a foundation created by the parents of Rustburg's Nathan Norman.

His parents say they started Hope for Tomorrow to raise pediatric cancer awareness and to reach out to those dealing with childhood cancer.

They say all of the money from the race will go toward research and to families struggling to pay for treatments.

"I just feel like the bigger the voice for kids battling cancer, the bigger the chances are that one day, we'll be able to make a difference," said Dawn Norman.

Norman says they held the race this weekend to kick off Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. And in total, they had about 200 people sign up for the race.
