Pittsylvania Co., VA - Dan River High School held its annual "At The Arch" 9/11 Ceremony in Pittsylvania County Wednesday morning.
State and local officials were there, as well as local police, fire and EMS personnel.
The JROTC presented the Freedom Flag, while members of the band played patriotic music.
Senator Bill Stanley and Delegate Danny Marshall spoke on the importance of remembering the victims of the September 11th attacks and the sacrifices made by first responders that day.
"We the citizens of the United States, of all ages, must never forget what happened. We must continuously remind ourselves that freedom is never free," said Stanley.
At the 2010 ceremony, Dan River High School was presented with a piece of the Pentagon by a former Pentagon employee that survived the attack.
