Virginia Tech-East Carolina: Week Long Coverage

Blacksburg - East Carolina is chasing its first 3-and-0 start in five years when it plays host to the Hokies Saturday afternoon, the kickoff just after noon.

The last time the Pirates won their first three games was 2008, when they began the year beating the Hokies in Charlotte, then upsetting West Virginia.  East Carolina is averaging 41 points a game with quarterback Shane Carden completing a gaudy 80 percent of his passes the first two games.  Virginia Tech's defense got its first score since 2010 last week with Detrick Bonner's 37-yard pick-6 against Western Carolina.

Brandon Facyson, HOKIES FRESHMAN CORNERBACK, said "We were very excited about that.  You know the interception we had on Saturday, they really increased our motor for just playing on the ball, so we're definitely going to go in here with their high-tempo offense and they like to pass the ball a lot.  So we're definitely going to be focused and we're going to be ready for it."
