Tulsa police say the TPS driver behind the wheel of a wrecked school bus currently has a suspended drivers license.
An officer on scene told reporter Kim Jackson that it has to do with unpaid tags on his personal car. He was driving a Tulsa bus Wednesday morning around 6:30am on 41st street near 145th East Avenue when he lost control and over corrected, sending the bus onto its side several feet from the pavement.
The only student on board was not hurt and neither was the driver. She told our Kim Jackson she was asleep at the time of the crash. She woke up to the driver telling her to escape through the emergency exit.
Kim Jackson is on the story, asking questions of school officials on how this oversight could have happened. Look for the very latest updates here on KTUL.com and Tulsa's Channel 8 news this evening.
