Danville, VA-- Parents in Danville area got a chance to have their say about their child's education at a meeting Thursday night.
It's an effort of Danville Public Schools superintendent, Dr. Edward Newsome, to make sure the school system is always improving. He calls it the "Listening and Learning" tour and the first stop was at George Washington High School.
Two of the major topics parents brought was the need of better communication between schools and parents, and also the need of school renovations.
"Schools that are successful and school divisions that are successful value parent input. We let parents see we're genuine, transparent, honest, we really value their input" said Newsome.
The next "Listening and Learning" session will be at Galileo Magnet High School next September 26 at 6 p.m.
