Lynchburg - The 17th-ranked Randolph College men's soccer team stayed unbeaten Wednesday night, knocking off Hampden-Sydney 3-1 in ODAC action at Randolph.
Randolph led just 1-0 at the half on a Joe Skaja goal, but the WildCats added goals by Corey Sindle and Kyle Unruh in the second half to take a commanding 3-0 lead. The WildCats controlled play most of the game, putting 12 shots on goal to only 2 for the Tigers.
Sindle's goal was the 46th of his career, earning the forward a spot in the ODAC's all-time top-10 list. Randolph's ranking of 17th in Division 3 is the highest in program history. Leo Kowalski scored with less than five-and-a-half minutes to play in the game to help the Tigers avoid being shut out.
With the win, Randolph improves to 10-0-1, 5-0 in the ODAC while Hampden-Sydney falls to 5-4-2, 2-2-1 in the ODAC.
Randolph's win sets up a battle on Saturday for first place in the ODAC as Roanoke hosts the WildCats in a game of unbeatens at the top of the conference.
