Update: Blairs Man in Hospital After Shooting in Danville


Update 5 p.m.:

Danville, VA - New information about a shooting in Danville Tuesday night. The victim's wife says her husband is a 51-year-old Blairs resident.

She says he had just finished cleaning a home in the 300 block of Wyndover Drive, and when he approached his truck, he saw someone in it.

The person then shot him in the head and took off.

The victim was able to make his way back to the home and get help.

He was flown from Danville regional to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and his wife says he is not in critical condition.


Danville, VA - Danville Police are investigating three crimes that happened late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.

They were first called to the 300 block of Wyndover Drive about 10 p.m.  Investigators say that's where they found a 43-year-old man from Blairs suffering from a gun shot wound.  EMS crews took him to Danville Regional Medical Center.  No word on his condition.

At about 10:30 p.m., police responded to a home on Edmonds Street for a report of a home invasion.  Two people in the home told police that three people, all wearing hoodies, forced their way through the front door and stole a wallet.  The victims say one of the suspects had a gun. One of the victims was taken to the hospital for a head injury.

Danville Police were later called to a robbery at about 1:15 a.m. at the intersection of First Street and Harrison Street.  Police say two men wearing baseball hats and bandanas got out of a white SUV and robbed the victim.  According to the victim, one of the men had a gun.
