Richmond, VA - Police departments across the state want to prevent prescription drug abuse. So every year, they hold the National Prescription Drug Take Back.
That event is set for Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM.
State police and local law enforcement agencies want you to bring in your dangerous, expired, or unwanted drugs.
That way, it's out of the hands of those who would abuse it, and also out of lakes and streams.
Last year, 742-thousand pounds of prescription drugs were turned in.
The following law enforcement agencies will be collecting at their offices: Henry County Sheriff's Office, Patrick County Sheriff's Office, Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office, Campbell County Sheriff's Office, South Boston Police Department and Lynchburg Police Department.
