Halloween means a lot of events around the area for kids.
From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Halloween, Parents and children can make their way through River Ridge Mall in Lynchburg to get treats from participating stores. The malls event is for kids up to 12 years old, and they must be accompanied by an adult. Mall officials would like parents not to wear a mask.
In Vinton, kids are invited to the annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat event. Children up to 12 can head to South Pollard street from 2:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. More than 40 businesses will have treats ready.
If candy isn't your thing, then the Historic North Theater in Danville is the place to be. They'll be putting on Houdini's Haunted House on Halloween from 6:30 p.m. to midnight. Organizers say the event is unlike a typical haunted house, and is more like a theatrical and interactive experience. Tickets are $13 dollars each.
Finally, participating IHOP restaurants will give away a free "Scary Face" pancakes to children up to 12 years old. Kids can decorate their Scary Face pancake anyway they want.
