Danville, VA - The Danville Historical Society has come up with a new way to inform visitors about all the attractions Southside has to offer.
They call it Learn, Explore, Enjoy. It's a sculpture-garden plaza on the back lawn of the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History.
The different monoliths give historical information and ideas for activities. The group said downtown Danville needed this hub of information for tourists.
"You can go to the visitors center off of Route 29 and you can pick up some brochures at local hotels, but this is the first centrally near downtown, and it's kind of one stop shop," said Sarah Latham, President of the Danville Historical Society.
The project is sponsored by the Danville Regional Foundation, Averett University and other local organizations.
There'll be a ceremony unveiling the plaza on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m.
