VES Returns to VISAA Title Game


LYNCHBURG - After a 66-yard touchdown run and an 80-yard punt return touchdown were called back by penalties, Ronnie Stringfield made the rest of his scores count in a 41-14 win for V.E.S. against Fredericksburg Christian.

In a rematch of last year's VISAA Division III state championship game, the Bishops put up 425 yards of offense in Saturday afternoon state semifinal.

Stringfield finished with 15 carries for 152 yards and three touchdowns.

Taylor McHugh threw for 224 yards on 4-8 passing to go along with a touchdown pass.


North Cross defeated Fishburne 27-21 in the other semifinal so V.E.S. will host North Cross on Saturday November 16th for the championship. Initial game time is listed at 1 p.m.
