Two men were taken into custody over the weekend for their parts in the reported beating death of a man over the weekend.

Tulsa Police placed Emile George July and John Hunter under arrest for the murder of a man in north Tulsa. Officers were made aware of the incident by agents with the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force.

According to a statement from TPD, the situation began when NOVCTF agents were notified of a man beating inside a residence on North Trenton Avenue on Saturday. Officials were told that July was a suspect in the beating and was located in a blue pickup truck that fled from police and wrecked at East Pine and North Norfolk Avenue.

July was taken into custody after the pursuit where he was found at the Whitlow Apartment Complex.

During the investigation, officers made contact with Hunter at his residence in the 1800 block of N. Trenton. It was there that officers stated he was "less than cooperative" about someone being inside the residence.

"Officers made entry and found a male deceased inside," the release went on to state. During the search of the residence investigators determined that July had killed the man and Hunter was assisting him in cleaning up the crime scene.

July was booked on a first degree murder complaint. Hunter was booked for accessory to murder.

Police will now determined how the man was killed inside the residence. No identification has been confirmed.

Anyone with information on this murder or the identity of the victim are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918 596 2677, The Homicide Tip Line at 918 798 8477 or email homicide@cityoftuylsa.org
