Dive Teams Recovers Sunken Cars in Rogers County

Posted: Updated:

State troopers are in the middle of a large-scale operation to remove vehicles found an area of water in Rogers County.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol's Marine Enforcement Division began the operation before noon in the McClellan-Kerr Navigation Channel east of Tulsa.

Troopers are using new technology that includes side-scan sonar systems to find vehicles that are submerged in up to 20 feet of water.

The divers will mark the vehicles with buoys and wreckers will then be used to pull the vehicles from the water.

The Associated Press contributed to this release.
