Oklahoma State defensive back Justin Gilbert is named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week. He had two interceptions in the Cowboys 38-13 victory of Texas Saturday afternoon in Austin. One of those picks he returned 43 yards for a touchdown.
Justin is the eight different Cowboy to win a conference weekly honor. That matches a Big 12 record held by the Cowboys in 2010 and Colorado in 2001. OSU has had a total of ten award winners this season.
The 2000 Sooners won a total of 12 Player of the Week awards. The Cowboys are just two away from tying that conference record.
