Governor-Elect McAuliffe Speaks at Economic Summit in Williamsburg

Posted:

Williamsburg, VA - Governor-elect Terry McAuliffe was in Williamsburg Wednesday, listening to the Virginia Chamber of Commerce's plan for the commonwealth's future.

Wednesday was the fourth annual economic summit from Blueprint Virginia, which is an initiative to look at long range economic development planning.

More than seven thousand participants have worked to develop a business plan for the commonwealth.

"I don't care if you're a Democrat or you're a Republican. If you are willing to work with me to move this economy forward to create and diversify our economy then we are going to work together and we are going to have a great relationship," McAuliffe said.

McAuliffe and newly elected Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam were among the summit's participants.

"One of the areas that I think we really need to concentrate on is our technology and training in high school." Northam said.
