Pedestrian Hit by Car in Roanoke Passes Away


Roanoke, VA- A man struck by a car earlier this week passed away from his injuries Friday morning.

According to Roanoke Police, 67-year-old Dr. Gerald Lee Schertz of Troutville was hit by a car Tuesday night when leaving the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The incident in the 2000 block of South Jefferson Street left Schertz seriously injured.

We're told he passed away early Friday morning at Carilion Memorial Hospital. The case is still under investigation.
