Amherst Co. Company Announces $45 Million in Upgrades


Amherst Co., VA - An Amherst County company is investing $45 million in upgrades that Governor McDonnell says will make it a competitive employer for years to come.

McDonnell's Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Trade was in Amherst Tuesday morning to deliver the news about Greif.

The company specializes in industrial packaging products and services.

McDonnell says the upgrades at the plant will include technology improvements that will reduce the amount of energy is takes to produce products.

More than 300 people work at Greif.
