Blacksburg - Virginia Tech true freshman cornerback Kendall Fuller has been named the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year by the ACC Sports Media Association.
Fuller is the first Hokie to be honored as ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year after ranking fifth nationally in interceptions with six and leading the conference with 16 passes defended. The Baltimore native had 56 tackles in the regular season, including 37 solo stops. Fuller made the second-team All-ACC defense along with Jack Tyler and Derrick Hopkins. Tech's A.J. Hughes was named second-team punter. The Hokies had NO first-team selections.
