Winter Weather Conference Held in Lynchburg

Lynchburg, VA – ABC 13's Sean Sublette was of a winter planning conference Wednesday.

The event was all about winter weather preparedness.

There were representatives from VDOT, and many Lynchburg city groups.

The big message is get your car, your home, and yourself ready for winter and don't wait until the first snow fall.

"Every time you go to the store, you should make a habit of gathering up some sort of emergency preparedness supplies, whether it's water, or non-perishable foods, something that is going to hold your family over if you are huddled up in your house with no power, no heat for three or four days, " said Health Emergency Coordinator Monica McCullough.

The National Weather Service is predicting normal temperatures and precipitation this winter.

There are at this point, no indications of extremely cold weather headed for the Commonwealth.
