Bedford Co. School Board Looking at D-Day Use Agreement

Posted:

Bedford, VA - The Bedford County School Board is revisiting an agreement with the National D-Day Memorial, that allowed Bedford Elementary to be used for memorial events when the weather is bad.

The school had been owned by the City of Bedford, but after reversion all schools became property of the county.

There is consensus among board members to continue to let the memorial use the school at no charge, because the memorial provides free educational programs for schools.

The board will vote early next year.
