Update: Teen Killed in Franklin Co. Crash Was LU Student


UPDATE: 11:18 a.m.

Franklin Co., VA - According to Liberty University's website, the 18-year-old killed in Saturday's crash in Franklin County was a member of the track team.

Darius Dixon of Chesapeake is listed on the team's roster.  The website says he was a freshman sprinter.


Franklin Co., VA- State Police is investigating a fatal accident that happened Saturday around 5:30 a.m. in Franklin County on Route 122.

We're told 20-year-old Abigail Flower of Lynchburg was driving Southbound when she ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree. She, along with one passenger, 18-year-old Caleb Flower were taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

A second passenger, 18-year-old Darius Dixon of Chesapeake was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Both Abigail and Caleb Flower were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Police say Dixon was not. Abigail Flower has been charged with reckless driving.
