Online Investigators Training in Bedford Co.

Bedford Co., VA - Investigators from all over the United States and Canada are in Bedford County this week, getting trained to go after those who sexually exploit children.

The Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is holding the class at the task force headquarters.

The focus of the training is identifying child pornography distribution. They are learning how to use common, peer to peer, file sharing networks to find and investigate individuals sharing images.

"We're here teaching investigators how to go out, use the networks. How to get the evidence and basically find the people who are using them to distribute child pornography," said Sgt. Steve Anders.

This training allows our local task force to network with others. Local investigators have worked on cases before with investigators who've been trained in Bedford County.
