Brookville Girls Beat Altavista 50-33


Campbell County - Anitra Thomas scored a game-high 21 points to help power Brookville past Altavista 50-33 Wednesday night in girls basketball action at Brookville.

Thomas hit a shot at the first-half buzzer to give the Bees a 25-24 lead going into intermission. Brookville then came out and dominated the second half, outscoring the Colonels 25-9 to complete the 17-point win.

Sydney Morris led Altavista with 13.  Alexis Rosser added 10 points for Brookville, the Bees improve to 4-and-0 on the season.

Two other scores, boys basketball, Anthony Swan scored 17 to lead V.E.S. to a road victory over Amelia Academy 80-55.

And men's ODAC action, Hampden-Sydney earned a hard-fought 60-56 win over Randolph.  Mike Murray led the Tigers with 22, Seth Wimbish was Randolph's top scorer with 12.
