Update: "Crazy Sexy Cool" Business Fire Considered Suspicious

Update: 4:21 p.m.

Bedford Co., VA – The store "Crazy Sexy Cool" in Bedford County caught fire Thursday night.

Investigators now say this is a joint investigation and they are classifying this fire as suspicious.

The fire marshal brought in the sheriff's office and investigators from both agencies.

Those investigators won't tell us why they think this fire is suspicious.

There is a very visible racial slur spray painted just inside the door to the business, but they won't speculate at this point whether that slur has anything to do with the fire or  tell us if there were signs of forced entry.

Investigators have spoken to the building's owner and the owner of the shoe store.

"She was very cooperative under the circumstances,” said Jeff Pauley, the Deputy Fire Marshal. She was certainly upset that her business got burned up.  We had a brief, but good conversation."

We have attempted to contact the owner, but have so far received no response.

The fire was contained to the last two units, which were both occupied by the shoe store.

The next unit over is unoccupied, but had some smoke damage.

The damage estimate is currently between $150,000 and $200,000.
