Lynchburg - The Liberty men's basketball team held Howard to less than 37 percent shooting from the field and the Flames rolled over the Bison 77-59 Tuesday night at LU.
Davon Marshall and Antwan Burrus led the Flames with 16 points each, followed by Tomasz Gielo who added 11.
Burrus also had eight rebounds and two blocks, surpassing Julius Nwosu for second all-time on Liberty's career blocked shots list with 113.
Prince Okoroh finished the contest with a game-high 24 points for the Bison, while also pulling down seven boards.
Liberty shot 49 percent for the game and the Flames were solid behind the three-point arc, shooting better than 44 percent and tying a season-high with eight three-pointers. The Flames also hit 23-of-30 from the free throw line, nearly 77 percent.
Liberty led by as many as 29 in the second half, the closest the Bison could come was 18, the final margin.
Liberty hits the road on Friday, squaring off with Southern Conference member Furman in Greenville, S.C. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
