Crews Battle Brush Fire in Salem

Salem, VA- Salem fire crews battled a brush fire Saturday afternoon. Firefighters responded to the 900 of Camp North Road around one o'clock.

They found a brush fire burning close to a building, but they were able to contain it and prevent any damage. High winds made it difficult for them to fight the flames though.

About 25 personnel from the Salem and Roanoke County Fire Departments responded to the call.

We're told the fire was caused by a burning tree stump, and was ruled accidental.
