Mommy Monday: New Peanut Allergy Study Released

Lynchburg, VA - So many mothers fear a child's exposure to peanuts even before they're born because 1 in 50 kids have a deadly allergy risk.

Pregnant women are told eating peanut products might increase their child's risk to develop an allergy, but researchers at Northwestern don't agree.

In their study of more than 8,000 children, they found the more peanuts a woman eats during her pregnancy, the less likely her child is going to have a peanut allergy.

They say to think of it like a vaccine. The body learns to recognize peanuts as something safe.
