Roanoke Co. Explosion Victim Expected to Recover


Roanoke Co., VA - Roanoke County detectives continue to investigate an explosion Friday that sent one man to the hospital.

The victim, Gary Spence, Junior, 29, was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial before being flown to a burn center at Wake Forest University.

Monday a detective said Spence is expected to recover.

The explosion happened in the detached garage of a home in the 2600hundred block of Rutrough Road.

The investigator was unsure if the victim lived in the home or was just visiting.
