Area Lawmakers File Bills for 2014 General Assembly

Richmond, VA - As the General Assembly gets ready to start back up, several of our local lawmakers have already filed bills.

Among them:

Senator Tom Garrett has filed bills to allow coyote hunting on Sundays, allow Governors to serve two four year terms, and legalize sodomy between consenting adults except in the case of prostitution.  Under current law it's illegal.

Delegate Ben Cline has filed a bill that would have Governor Bob McDonnell's transportation funding plan expire on July 1st.

Delegate Danny Marshall has filed a bill to make it illegal to carry your pets while driving.

And Senator Bill Stanley has filed a bill to create a public registry for those convicted of animal cruelty.

The General Assembly convenes January 8th.
