Danville, VA - About 25 people came out Wednesday night to a public hearing in Danville on the development of the Coleman Industrial Site.
The city put together the hearing at the request of preservationists across the state.
The proposed industrial park is the site of what some believe is a slave burial ground and former dwelling of the historic Fearn family.
Two excavation projects on the area did not show any human remains.
The City plans to continue working with the department of historic resources on different options for the site, but they still plan to move forward.
"Comments we heard yesterday are not going to change anything we are going to do in the first phase of the project. We got a permit for the front part of the site and they wanted to see how we develop that before we get a permit for the rest of the sight, " said Economic Development Director Jeremy Stratton.
Stratton says there are already two prospective companies interested in the industrial park.
