Lexington, VA - Dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes have converged on Lexington for this weekend's agility trials.
Hundreds of dogs and their handlers are at the Virginia Horse Center working to get their qualifications in various skill levels and categories. This weekend's trials are sponsored by the Dog Owners Training Club of Lynchburg and the Star City Canine Training Club of Roanoke.
In these trials, sometimes the teams do great, sometimes they fall apart, but for many of them, it doesn't really matter.
"Although there are a lot of competitors out here, most people are just competing against themselves really trying to make their performance better and their dog's performance better I mean and just having a good time with it," said agility trials judge Jim Smotrel.
This weekend's trials are open and free to the public and continue through Sunday. And if you like watching agility, look for Noreen Turyn's special report looking behind the scenes at the work that goes into it and the addiction that comes out of it!
