Salem Rodeo Returns

Salem, VA - The Salem Stampede Championship Rodeo was back in our area Friday.

More than 200 cowboys and cowgirls showed off their skills on a variety of exhibitions; bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling and tie-down roping were all part of the fun.

This rodeo began 47-years ago and was started by Lorettta Lynn. Back then it was appropriately dubbed, The Loretta Lynn Rodeo.

"It's something you can bring the family to whether they are 2 or 82 and enjoy a show. Enjoy something that is clean and wholesome" said Kevin Debusk of the Imperial Rodeo Company.

The show will run Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and a final show will run Sunday at 2 p.m.
