Lynchburg Boxer Scott Sigmon Returning to Ring

Lynchburg -  He retired back in September after a six-round loss.  But now, Lynchburg pro boxer Scott Sigmon has decided he's still got plenty left in the tank.

Sigmon is returning to the ring March 1 for a rematch against one of the few men who've defeated him, Jessie Nicklow of Baltimore.  That fight was four years ago in Baltimore when Nicklow beat Sigmon in a close 10-round unanimous decision.  This time, Sigmon will get the hometown advantage.  The fight will be held at the Boonsboro Ruritan Club, Nicklow comes in with a 24-and-3 record, Sigmon is 23-and-5.

Scott "Cujo" Sigmon - 23-5 PRO BOXING RECORD, said "You know he's the guy with the win and everything, so we've had to adhere to some of his requests and we're actually using two Maryland judges and only one Virginia judge in this fight.  But I'm not complaining about it, I'm just very thankful and grateful that Jessie Nicklow is giving me an opportunity and try and right what I feel like was a wrong in my career."

Tickets for the fight are on sale through The Hurt Factory at 238-5809.
