Danville Public Works Preparing For Snow

Danville, VA - For the first time this season, Danville Public Works crews have been hard at work preparing for snow.

Crews started putting down brine on all commercial and industrial roads at 7 a.m. Tuesday. They say it really is a precaution so the streets don't freeze up.

Director of Public Works Rick Drazenovich says they will watch the roads carefully over the next few days to see if they need to keep adding more salt. He tells us they always have adequate supplies of salt and brine on hand in case of inclement weather.

"We have a very good snow plan and break it into two and a half hour shifts. Send our folks home early. We are prepared for these snow storms," said Drazenovich.

They do not plan on calling in extra crews for this storm.
