Campbell Co. Court House Flooded Following Pipe Break

Rustburg, VA - The lobby of the Campbell County Court House was a mess Friday night, after a sprinkler pipe froze and broke.

Officials said it was like a water-fall for ten minutes with water gushing through the lobby and into the hallway.

Thankfully none of the court rooms were impacted and no files or documents were damaged. It did however bring court proceedings to an early halt.

Clean up crews were on hand well into the night.

"The sprinkler system is back on so we have fire protection. We've got the folks here cleaning it up, vacuuming the carpet, we're going to check for moisture and put down a spray to make sure we don't have any mold problems" said Clif Tweedy, Campbell County's Deputy County Administrator.

Most of the damage was contained to the lobby. Officials anticipate a few hundred dollars' worth of repairs.
