UPDATE: Roanoke House Fire Ruled Arson


Roanoke, VA - Roanoke fire officials say someone intentionally set a home on fire over the weekend and they need your help finding out who did it.

Crews were called to the home in the 2200 block of Melrose Avenue Saturday evening a little before 8 p.m. They could see heavy smoke and flames coming from the side of the house, which is vacant.

Roanoke, VA - Roanoke fire crews responded to a fire Saturday night in the 2200 block of Melrose Avenue.

When they arrived they found heavy flames coming from the house. Dispatch got the call around 7:50 p.m. and firefighters had the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

No one was injured in the fire. Damage to the home is estimated at $11,700. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
