Free Tax Assistance At Lynchburg Public Library

Lynchburg, VA - A lot of people would rather have someone else do their taxes for them, but it can get expensive. That's why the Lynchburg Public Library is offering free tax assistance.

The AARP will have members at the library to help starting in February all the way through April. These members have been trained by the IRS, and the sites will be equipped to E-File. The library has done this for years now at both branches, but this is the first year the taxes will be done at only the main branch.

"It's difficult to gather your taxes for anyone. All the language is difficult to understand if you're not a professional in that field. So we're trying to help people sort through that without too much pain," said Hannah Robinson who works at the Lynchburg Public Library.

The library will offer tax assistance every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The assistance will start on February 1 and go until April 14.
